Cocktail Bartender Extensive course
Objectives
Provide students with the product knowledge and practical training to behave as professional cocktail bartenders. Including:
- Spirit product knowledge
- Classic and contemporary cocktails training
- Tools and techniques
Program Structure
Weekday: A three-week program designed for those seeking a professional industry career. The program consists of nine four hour-long training sessions.
Weekend: A four-week program designed for those seeking a professional industry career. The program consists of eight four and half hour-long training sessions.
These sessions run concurrently and attendance is required at every session. Each week we will incorporate practical hands on work as well written, and we will be providing homework.
Day & Time
Weekday: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday, 12pm – 4pm.
Weekend: Saturday & Sunday, 12pm – 4:30pm.
Location
The Diamond – 6 Powell Street Vancouver.
Program Outline
Upon successful completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Pour, muddle, shake and stir correctly
- Handle multiple drink orders
- Reference a library of classic cocktails
- Explain production and appellation of different spirits
- Understand the value of tasting and spirit product knowledge
- Create a balanced cocktail program

Certification
Students with a 75% minimum in attendance and in written and practical tests will be awarded with a “Cocktail Bartender” certification. Students will also be awarded ‘Serving It Right’ certification upon completion of the BC Government program.
